Awkwafina
Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and musician who started her career through innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a the most comical of perspectives. Then she branched out into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living in Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was through the instrument of trumpet. Jazz, classical and hip-hop training began as she was just a teenager. When she was in high school, she concentrated on the field of journalism as well as women's studies. She also studied Mandarin for a while in Beijing. However, it wasn't until she graduated when she decided to turn her attention on music. Her 2012 track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet before settling on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also included songs that were viral such as body positive Queef or winking hometown tour New York Bitche$. This track was directly linked to another project, Awkwafina's NYC a travel guide published in the year 2015. Her resume contained both an musicians and an author. The singer was seeking for a new career path in acting. Alongside early TV shows like Girl Code and Tawk - she was in films Neighbors 2 Storks & Bad Rap. In 2018 she was able to land breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's Eight and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she dropped her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
