AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player is a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the top level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 until 2020 along with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][98][9] Morgan was chosen as the top pick in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she graduated early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional there , and was a key player in the team's winning the league title. Morgan was 22 years old at the time and was the youngest player on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. She scored the winning goal in the match against Canada in the 123rd minute of the semi-final at the 2012 London Olympics. She finished 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and score 20 assists during the same calendar year and becoming the sixth the tiniest U.S. player to score 20 goals in a single season. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was an FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. She was named on both the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
